Eadaoin – Miss Interior Designer

I tell myself very often how lucky a photographer I am, especially when it comes to work with people like Eadaoin. Eadaoin called me on the beginning of January. She had just launched her official site for Holden Interiors and needed a photo of herself for it. We set up the shoot for another day and after discussing options, decided that her home would be the best place for it – not only arranged by her, but most important – a natural location. Eadaoin didn’t have a photo session like this before, so I paid much more attention to make it as comfortable as possible for her standing in front of the lens. When we met I found out she is not only beautiful but also very kind and warm person. I knew it was going to be a good shoot there with person like Eadaoin.
Her home came out a great place for photography. So full of light, as I realized. She uses light and bright colors in her designs very consciously, creating living and working spaces with great taste! Be sure to check out her portfolio

on her website. We made a quick photo shoot in her living room, while chatting and chatting of course. She has a great personality as well and I realized she is one of those that love their work, and that is why the quality of her service is so high. She puts her heart in what she does.
Next part took place in her office. Shoot went very smooth, as Eadaoin trusted me, and that I believe, is a base for good portrait session. We had a good time, so when I sent her the photos, she got back with a message saying: “Thanks a million for the photos. Even though I normally hate being photographed, I really enjoyed the experience and I am delighted with the photos you have sent me….and that’s a first for me!”. It couldn’t be better! See. I am lucky

Cactus Jacks by Stephen Walton

Oh, it’s been long time since my last post. 2012 started extremely busy. Busy in a good way, of course! A lot of good projects coming in this year, it seems Galway has woken up after 2011′ apathy. Fingers crossed, please!

One of the first projects I’ve been working on was a photo-shoot forStephen Walton. Stephen is a great guy with a head full of brilliant ideas of how to pimp up your business with his creative interior design. It seems like it’s a great time for Stephen, his interior in Kai Cafe + Restaurant has been selected as one of the top 10 rooms in Ireland in the 2012 Bridgestone Guide. After the success with Ard Bia and Kai Cafe + Restaurant he redesigned Cactus Jacks, giving the place a good kick. I love the idea with chairs on the ceiling! Good job with the lighting and textures as well. Honestly, this guy knows his job!

Festive Feeling in air – Aniar Restaurant

Even though Christmas are far away behind us and everybody already forgot about this whole before-Christmas rush, and then presents, dishes and all that stuff…, there is still this magical atmosphere that have been left from that lovely time. If you walk down on Lower Dominic street, Aniar Restaurant will surely catch your eye from the distance. Well, at least, if you haven’t seen this yet! Some nice and delicate display stills decorate it’s window. I made a couple of photos of this for ['wai] Production.

KAi Cafe + Restaurant – Window Display for Christmas

I was keeping an eye on KAi for some time already. This place is getting really fabulous, so I was very excited when I was asked if I can take a couple of photos of Christmas window display in KAi. “Of course I will” I said that time.

Then I started searching some info about KAi and cough this one at theirs blog, which I really felt like quoting:

“So… the food at Kai is great, we all know that, there are some funny accents on Sea Road, and plenty to be found in Kai itself. That may have something to do with Jessica Murphy, Head Chef, and owner who was born and raised in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand. Along with her husband David, together they opened Kai, a place with a moral sensibility and a commitment to a better culinary world.

What is it that makes the food of Jessica Murphy so great? Voted the best chef in Connacht by Food and Wine, Jess has worked in some of the finest kitchens and offered up the highest standards of food…”

It’s so well pointed, isn’t it? Anyway, KAi have been opened just a couple of months ago and they are doing very very well! Good luck Jess and David!

Sunny Judy – Vintage Fall Session

Well, we did this photo shoot while ago, in November, in Coole Gardens. Sunny is very enthusiastic young designer and stylist studding in GTI. She loves mixing styles, experimenting with colors and accessories. We had a good time during the session, thanks to lovely crew, you were irreplaceable! That was our first shoot together, but not the last one. More of Sunny Judy soon

How was 2011 for you? Full of changes, friends meeting, goal achieving? Maybe full of wonderful journeys or great parties? Mine was all like this! And guess what… 2012 will bring much more exciting moments, people and all that suff makes life worth living. Be open for all of this. I am and I tell you, it’s worth! So I am sending much love for all my friends, those from Poland, those from Ireland, from Spain, from Slovakia, those that are now in Paris, those, that lives in UK, to family, to my ex bf, to all my modelsand all Galway!

Salthill in Winter Time

Those cold and rainy days bring to Salthill new vibe, that I was trying to capture. Salthill has a special place in my heart, not only because of beauty and amazing feeling in this place, which is a mix of seaside resort and silent cottage, but also because of walks we took along the shoreline as we were watching clouds that appeared on the bay. It always puts me in nostalgic mood.

Galway is so photogenic.

Everytime we are going for a walk or ride, when I bring my camera with me, there’s always something to take photo of. Like moments, light, people … that just beg me to be captured. Those are just couple of random shot I’ve taken during the last 2 months. Hope you’ll enjoy them.

il Vicolo

il Vicolo is newly opened café & wine bar in Galway. On 5 Buttermilk Lane, just on the corner of Augustine st, were used to be cafe Luna now you can sit in relaxing atmosphere and enjoy… I really meant ENJOY … how magical and warm is this place. Il Vicolo takes you back to 20′s in Italy with moody music and amazing coffee. On the evening it turns into great friends meeting place with wide wine selection. And the food? Well, I’ve been there many times, almost always ordering something from their specials of day. I am always discovering new taste, that i haven’t known before. And I’m totally and utterly in love with their sweets and cakes. Goodness!

Il Vicolo runs Aoife and Gerry, almost like water and fire, they are so different, but still they complete themselves so great. I was thinking about the atmosphere of this place and how strongly they are making it by themselves. Oh, and waiters, of course, all of them are handsome and charming I only wish that Il ViColo could be a little bigger, but well, maybe this would break this cosy and warm feeling there?

Anyway, I felt, that Il Vicolo has to be photographed in different way than my usual session of bars and restaurants. So here’s it, combination of black&white with warm, colorful photographs.

Christmas Market

Saturday was about wasting time, so we went to a Christmas market tease our noses a little … oh those smells of lovely food coming from there. Well, no dissapointment, really, smells came with tastes! We tried various delicacys, but my fav was coconut cookies with chocolate… and with raspberries…yummy! I had a fun with Ola and Szymon just moping around, taking some spontaneous photos and beginning to feel the Christmas mood…
